I am very blessed to work from my garden studio at 11 Esslemont Road, EH16 5PX. Esslemont Road is in South Newington and is the road that runs between Kings Buildings and Cameron Toll. Coming from Kings Buildings heading towards Cameron Toll I am about 2/3's of the way down Esslemont Road on the right hand side by the 3rd 20MPH sign. Coming up from Cameron Toll towards Kings Buildings, I am the next block up from the bus stop, next to the 1st 20MPH sign. There are 2 purple doors and the studio is located through the purple door on the left.
You are welcome to park in the driveway. Alternatively, there is free parking in all of the surrounding streets. There are a few bays which have restrictions between 11am & 12.30PM.
Massage cannot if you have had any vaccinations within the last 72 hours, if you have a fever/infection, if you are in the acute phase of any injury or soft tissue inflammation, if you are receiving chemotherapy, where there are varicose veins (although we can work above the veins and work other areas of the body), or, if you have consumed alcohol. People with chronic kidney issues should also get in touch in advance to discuss treatment options.
During body massage treatment you will be asked to remove all clothing except for your underwear. The treatment area is screened off so you will have privacy to get settled on the treatment couch. You will be respectfully kept covered throughout the treatment other than the areas I am working on.
Please try not to arrive more than 10 minutes early for your appointment. I am a lone therapist and need time between clients to clean, sanitize and prepare the space for you.
The clinic space is at street level.
Massage can have considerable, beneficial effects on the body. Each client is unique and after care advice is always discussed after every treatment. Healing reactions are not always experienced and this doesn't mean the treatment has worked or not worked, it just means that our physiologies are different and so it will vary from person to person. Some people may experiences a healing reaction following massage. Healing reactions most commonly occur as slight headache, slight muscle ache, thirst, increased urination, and changes in body temperature. This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. It is vital however that you increase your water intake following massage and exercise mindful, self care practices. Be gentle with yourself, rest, eat well, drink lots of water and revel in the afterglow of a good massage. If you are concerned about any healing reactions please just get in touch for a chat.
To cancel of change you appointment please get in touch as soon as you know. I am a lone therapist and so it's important to the business that I have the chance to try to fill spaces when cancellations need to happen. Of course there are times when unexpected and unavoidable things happen and I will always do my best to be as flexible and as understanding as possible but generally, the policy is that cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be chargeable and you are likely to be asked to pay up front for your next appointment.
